'El Cid' is a drawing of an Iberian Lynx. The title, which translates as 'The Lord' in Spanish was suggested by Jon Isaacs, and David liked his reasoning.

The print measures 605mm x 310 mm (23.75" x 12.10" inches)

This is a very small edition of just 25 Giclee prints, all signed and numbered individually by David

The Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus) is one of the world's most endangered feline species, native to the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. Known for its striking appearance—characterized by a short tail, tufted ears, and a spotted coat—it is smaller than its Eurasian relative but equally elusive. The Iberian lynx primarily preys on rabbits, making it highly vulnerable to fluctuations in rabbit populations. Habitat loss, hunting, and road accidents have historically pushed the species to the brink of extinction. However, intensive conservation efforts, including habitat restoration and captive breeding programs, have led to a gradual recovery, with populations now increasing in parts of Spain and Portugal. Despite these gains, the Iberian lynx remains classified as "Endangered" and continues to require close protection to ensure its long-term survival.
